UFL: Victoria University, YMCA share spoils

Victoria University 1-1 YMCA.

Victoria University played out a 1-1 draw with YMCA in their second game of group B in the ongoing Pepsi University Football League.

With both teams having support of fans, none could come out as the winner as they seemed to have equalled effort.

Victoria University had the first chance of the game in the 20th minute when Ochwo passed well to Lutwama who then shoot wide.

7 minutes later, YMCA netted the opener through Kigenyi Benon who finished with a beauty.

In the 40th minute, Victoria University had a chance to equalise but Ochwo who had dribbled to YMCA’S box saw his effort deflected to a corner.

In the 45th minute, Victoria University levelled matters through Abu Kajjabawangu.

Both teams returned to second half aiming for maximum points but instead settled for a draw as none could net the winner.

In the 60th minute, YMCA got their best chance in the game but William Kabungu missed after even Victoria University’s goalkeeper Nfuma was already beaten.

With four minutes to final whistle, Victoria University had netted the winner through Ocho who was denied by YMCA’S goalkeeper Mukisa.

The results means both teams remain in the 3rd and 4th place with only one point.

MUBS tops group B with 6 points while IUIU comes second with three points.

Action resumes today on 7th October when Kampala International University will be hosting Kumi University.
