Buddo SS are through to the Quarterfinals of the ongoing Uganda Secondary School Sports Association Boys football games in Fort Portal.
Buddo beat Kiggumba Royal 3-0 in a game played at the Kichwamba playground.
Goals from Joseph Kizza, Jimmy Kalema and Denis Kisiriko sent Simon Peter Mugerwa’s coached side through.
Kizza opened the scores in the 17th minute when he placed it perfectly into the top corner after Kiggumba failed to clear from a freekick.
Kalema doubled the lead in the second half after he was set by Kisiriko.
Kisiriko then made it three from the spot for his sixth goal of the tournament.
It was a commanding display from Buddo who are targeting their third title after triumphs in 2009 and 2018.
They were beaten at the semis before settling for fourth place after defeat to Kibuli in third place match last year in Arua.
Earlier, St Henry’s College Kitovu beat London College 4-1 thanks to a goal each from Reagan Ssekisambu, John Innocent Kisoro, Denish Dramuke and Alfred Ejoy.
Royal Giants and Westville needed penalty shootouts to eliminate Jinja Progressive and St Joseph Layibi respectively.
