Stanbic Uganda Cup: Kitara FC shoots-out Vipersto reach Semifinals

Kitara FC 2 (5-4) 2 Vipers SC – Masindi Stadium.

Kitara FC reached Semifinals of Stanbic Uganda Cup when they edged out Vipers SC in penalties of a 5-4 score after a 1-1 draw in normal time and 2-2 in extra time.

Less could seperate the two sides in the first 45 minutes as they both settled for a point after a goalless draw.

Vipers SC broke the deadlock first through Yunus Sentamu after a great cut back by Allan Okello in the 57th minute.

10 minutes later, Kitara FC were awarded a penalty after Jude Semugabu was fouled in the box area which Paul Mucureezi converted.

The game ended 1-1 and the referee had to add in more 30 extra time to get the winner.

Vipers SC got the led back in the 105+2 minutes through Bright Anukani’s penalty after Allan Okello was fouled down.

Paul Mucureezi leveled matters for Kitara 7 minutes later to send the game in penalties.

Kitara FC scored all their five penalties while Abdul Karim Watambala missed that of Vipers.

Kitara FC has now joined other teams on the stage including NEC FC, BUL FC and Pajule lions
