SUPL: URA edge Maroons as Busoga United, Gaddafi Share spoils in derby

URA FC 2-0 Maroons FC – Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

Busoga United 1-1 Gaddafi FC – FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

URA FC returned to winning ways after edging Maroons FC on a 2-0 score today on Thursday at their home Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

Enock Walusimbi opened the score for the tax collectors in the 20th minute answering a cross from a well delivered corner kick by Amis Bwangani.

Norman Namanya doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

Maroons picked momentum in the second half but couldn’t produce enough for atleast a point.

In the 76th minute, they were reduced to 10 men after player Norman Odipio was shown marching orders.

The results saw URA level points (30) with Maroons though sit at a later place 7th because of an inferior goal difference.

In other game, Busoga United played out a 1-1 draw with Gaddafi FC at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.

Gaddafi FC scored first through Bithum in the 29th minute before Emmanuel Ajo equalised for Busoga United in the 39th minute.

The results left Busoga United in the 14th place with 16 points while Gaddafi too remained 13th with 18 points from 18 games.
