Argentine forward Lionel Messi scored and provided two assists as his side eliminated Croatia in a 3-0 win to book a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals at Lusail stadium.
Messi scored a penalty in the 34th minute after a foul on Julian Alvarez as Croatia goalkeeper Dominik livakovic handed the forward as he had beaten him to the ball.
Julian Alvarez scored a brace to complete the 3-0 win against a Croatian side who failed to live up to the fans expectations.
Messi now becomes Argentina all time top World cup scorer with 11 goals while Batistuta and Maradona have remained with 10 and 8goals respectively,Messi 2 assists today has also equalled Diego Maradona’s tally with 8 in World cup
