France eliminate Atlas lions to return to a second successive final

BY JUMA KRUZ

France reached back to back finals after eliminating Morocco in a 2-0 win at Al – Bayt stadium to end Africa’s  dream of winning their first World Cup.

Theo Hernandez gave France an early lead as he scored in the 5th minute while Frankfurt youngster kolo Muani came off the bench to double the score with his first touch in the 79th minute.

Hernandez pounced on a lose ball in the Morocco defence to score from close range as they failed to clear the ball away from an initial shot sent in by Kylian Mbappe giving France an early lead.

Morocco dominated play as they tried to create chances but they failed to beat a well organized French defence before half time.

Randol kolo Muani scored with his first touch in the 79th minute as he tapped from close range a deflected shot from Mbappe after coming in as a substitute to replace Ousmane Dembele.
