Alex Kitata strike sinks Vipers in Jinja waters

Alex Kitata scored in the first minute as Gaddafi claimed a massive 1-0 victory against Vipers in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match played at Kakindu stadium in Jinja.

Gaddafi ended Vipers impressive run of seven games unbeaten run with a powerful shot from Kitata which beat goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza to find the back of the net.

Gaddafi managed to hold onto an early lead as they defended as a team to bounce back to winning ways after a 2-1 loss away against leaders KCCA FC.

High performing Vipers dropped a chance of topping the table as they succumbed to a second loss in the league as they failed to avoid defeat in Jinja.

Vipers last loss was a 1-0 defeat against KCCA FC and they managed to bounce back to collect six wins and a draw from the seven game played and sit in the third position on the log with 20 points just two below log leaders KCCA FC who sit top with 22 points.

The Venoms will return to action as they host Onduparaka in Kitende. Gaddafi will be away against struggling Maroons.
