Amus College 1-1 St Henry’s Kitovu
12 time East Africa Secondary Schools football boys’ champions St Mary’s Kitende needed a late equiser to grab a point against fellow countymate in group B Kibuli SS.
Derrick Kirungi put Kibuli SS in an early lead before Fazil Tumwine equalised for St Mary’s Kitende.
St Mary’s Kitende was on match day two after registering a 3-0 score against Tanzania’s Kiwira Coal Mine on Sunday.
St Mary’s Kitende’s head coach Ramathan Male is very confident about his side progressing from group stages despite a draw against Kibuli SS.
” We wanted a win, but a draw is not bad because we were playing the defending Champions, and these boys know each other” Ramathan Male said before adding.
” We had a game on Sunday, but they rested, so that kind of fatigue played a part. We’re going to prepare the boys psychologically, and l’m very confident we shall progresslast the group stages”.
In the other game, Ugandan representatives Amus College Bukedea and St Henry’s Kitovu also played out a 1-1 draw in their match day two.
Both schools had registered wins in their first opening games.
Allan Oyirwoth scored for Amus College while Alfred Ejoyi scored for St Henry’s Kitovu.
Fixtures resumes today with all Ugandan sides taking action as below.
