CAF Women’s Champions League: Ikwaput nets five to guide Kampala Queens past FAD FC

The Queens of Soccer handled a worthy defeat to Djibouti’s FAD FC (6-1) in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.

Kampala Queens went into the last game desperate for a win Incase their chances of reaching Semifinals would be guaranteed.

Fazila Ikwaput appeared on the score sheet 5 times, in the 5th, 15th, 27th, 73rd, 88th while the other goal was scored by Elizabeth Nakigozi in the 72nd minute.

Kampala Queens Foward Fazila Ikwaput has now scored eight goals in 4 games raising her name to golden boot contenders.

Fazila Ikwaput thanked Kampala Queens’ technical team and her fellow teammates for her great performance.

” l take this opportunity to thank the technical team of Kampala Queens for believing in me, to my fellow Queens thanks so much because without you can’t play and score alone on the pitch ” said Fazila Ikwaput.

Meanwhile Burundi’s Champions Bujja Queens stunned South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars on a 1-0 score.

The results mean Kampala Queens remained second in group A with 7 points behind Ethiopian CBE who tops with 10 points

Burundi’s Bujja Queens comes third with 6 points with one game to go.

For Kampala Queens to progress to Semifinals will pray for Burundi’s Bujja Queens to lose their last game against Djibouti’s FAD FC.

Meanwhile Ethiopian CBE FC already confirmed a semifinal slot with Vihiga Queens and JKT Queens from group B.
