Police Part Ways With Coaching Staff

FUFA Big League side Police FC has confirmed parting ways with their coaching staff.

Angelo Lonyesi (Head Coach), Yiga David (Assistant Coach) and Faisal Kanene (Goalkeepers Coach) have been shown the exit door.

Second Assistant Coach Mark Twinamatsiko who joined the team later in second round last season, recently moved to Booma FC.

The Technical bench is dissolved after it failed to guide Police UPL promotion last season.

Police finished fourth with 54 points, just three points outside the promotion bracket.

The side also lost the Stanbic Uganda Cup final to Vipers 1-0 in Lira thanks to Milton Karisa’s goal.

Lonyesi was appointed last year in July before the start of the 2022/23 FUFA Big League season.

Lonyesi had replaced Abdallah Mubiru who was sacked before the close of the 2021/22 UPL season due to poor results.

He was then returning to the role since 2008 when he replaced Sam Timbe.

The CAF A licensed coach had guided the Junior team (Police Young) to the Regional League from Lower Division.
