Ronald Owiny Ogenga: NEC FC Confirms First Signing

Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side NEC FC have completed the signing of defender Owiny Ronald Ogenga ahead of the new season.

The former Calvary FC captain has put pen to paper on a two-year employment deal and his official unveiling was made on thursday.

“The NEC FC family is thrilled to announce the addition of a true football gem to our roster, Owiny Ronald Ogenga. Hailing from Kitgum, this talented defender has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with on the field, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him don the NEC FC colours for the next two years”, reads a statement from the club.

Ogenga, a towering defender has been playing for Big League side Calvary FC for the past seasons.

He also featured for Acholi Province as the captain, in the ongoing FUFA drum Competition.

At NEC, he will be reuniting with his former coach Dudu Bosco, whom he worked with during their days at Calvary.

He becomes the first official signing for NEC, who will be competing in the UPL next season.

The club already confirmed Hussein Mbalangu as their new gaffer for next season and he will be assisted by Dudu Bosco.

And the addition Ogenga will be a big boost for NEC, who will be playing in the top flight League for the first time next season.
