Michael Kedi: Mbarara City Closing in on Winger

Mbarara City are considering the option of poaching pacy winger Kedi Michael Okoku from Calvary FC.

The versatile forward who can operate effectively on both the left and right wings was involved in 23 goals for Calvary last season.

He scored six goals and made eleven assists in the FUFA Big League, as well as scoring three and assisting thrice in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

There’s urgent need for the newly promoted Uganda Premier League side to regroup ahead of the new season, having registered more departures than arrivals in the ongoing transfer window.

Since announcing Wasswa Bbosa as the new head coach some two weeks ago, only one player, Joseph Akandwanaho has so far been unveiled, though Francis Odongo from Kataka is another deal confirmed done.

Meanwhile, a worrying number of players have already left the Ankole Lions.

Bronson Nsubuga and Isaac Kizza followed their former coach Sadick Ssempigi to Jinja North. Jude Semugabi and Solomon Okwalinga both left to Kitara while Ibrahim Tembo joined NEC.

Left back Hakim Magombe also announced his departure from the club on Thursday this week while Wasswa Shaban is another departure.

Besides those players who have already been confirmed to have left, there are also those the club is reluctant to work with for the coming season, implying they should be having a plan for potential replacements.
