Arthur Kaluma Withdraws From NBA Draft

Silverbacks forward Arthur Kaluma has withdrawn from this year’s NBA Draft, as first reported by ESPN.

The report states that Kaluma is returning to College, and he has been linked to Alabama, Texas and Kentucky.

Kaluma, in April, had declared that he was entering for the Draft due this June 22.

He had averaged 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in an impressive season for Creighton who lost to San Diego State in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.

But his withdrawal will is a sad development for many Ugandans who wanted to see Kaluma play in the prestigious NBA.

It’s strong to note that the NBA draft which is held every year in June, is where teams in the NBA choose players who have never played in the NBA before.

If a player has not played in college for four years, they must enter the NBA draft by declaring themselves eligible.

Kaluma played for the Silverbacks in AfroBasket 2021 in Kigali, Rwanda.
