Women Football: Uganda Martyrs, She Maroons sail on first leg advantage in the Uganda Cup

She Maroons 2-0 Asubo Gafford Ladies – Luzira 

The FUFA women Uganda Cup returned over the weekend with the semi finals first round games getting underway at various playgrounds.

Uganda Martyrs defeated Kawempe Muslim by a 1-0 score from a goal scored by midfielder Viola Namuddu as she headed in a corner from close range to beat goalkeeper Juliet Adeke.

Uganda Martyrs will have to defend their first leg advantage as they visit Kawempe Muslim SS women team at their playgrounds in Kawempe.

On the other hand, She Maroons claimed a massive 2-0 victory against Asubo Gafford Ladies in the second semifinal at Luzira prisons playgrounds on Sunday.

Anita Babirye gave the hosts a deserved lead in the 14th minute of the game as she converted from the spot before Millicent Namwembe doubled their lead in the 77th minute.

Both side will meet in the return leg as Asubo Gafford Ladies will be home to try and overcome the 2-0 deficit at Kampala Quality playgrounds.

The finals of the 2022/2023 Women Uganda Cup will be held in Kumi.
