Red Ball Cricket: Spoils Shared in Game One

Game one of the Red ball four-day Cricket and all Whites ended in a draw following Busoowoko’s failure to bowl out their opponents Itanda on Thursday.

Busoowoko put up some decent numbers in both their innings! The side garnered 265/10 and 289/10 on day one and three respectively, but despite bowling out their opponents on day two, they were unable to emulate that performance in the final innings.

Hassan Bagaga plucked three wickets on Tuesday, but despite bowling 10 Overs and conceding just 21 runs, he failed to pick a wicket today, and Itanda ensured the allocated time elapsed with them counting 267 runs for the loss of only four wickets.

Busoowoko racked up a total of 554 runs, but for them to have won the match by runs, they had to bowl out their competition. In the end, the match ended in a stalemate with Itanda totalling 458 runs.

With 252, Busoowoko’s Eddie Agaba recorded the most runs while Sadam Oyaga from Itanda came in second with 130.

Oyaga’s teammate Arafat Masinde had the most wickets with 4. Faizal Michu, Paul Mubere (Itanda), Richard Soheri and Bagaga (Busoowoko) all with three followed in.

For his knocks, Agaba was named the Player of the Match.

This competition will return on Monday for game two that will run between 22nd and 26th May at the same ground, Jinja SS Cricket Oval in Jinja.
