CAF Champions League: Al Ahly Reach Fourth Straight Final

Egyptian side Al Ahly beat Tunisian side Esperance to qualify for fourth consecutive CAF Champions League final.

Al Ahly who won the first leg 3-0 in Tunis, progress with a 4-0 aggregate victory.

Hussein Elshahat scored the only goal in Cairo as the Egyptian side eased into the final.

The goal was set by Percy Tau who put Elshahat through on goal before putting it over the onrushing goalkeeper.

Al Ahly will now face the winner between Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Casablanca, with this tie having ended 0-0.

This is the fourth consecutive final appearance for Al Ahly. They beat Zamalek and Kaiser Chiefs in 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons respectively.

Last season, Al Ahly lost to Wydad 2-0 at Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca.

It’s strong to note that this year’s final will be played on a home and away basis
