Tittle Race: Vipers fall to SC Villa as KCCA FC defeat Gaddafi

URA 2-3 Maroons FC – Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

Gaddafi FC 0-1 KCCA FC – Kakindu stadium.

SC Villa 1-0 Vipers SC – Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

SC Villa returned to winning ways after narrowly edging SC Vipers 1-0 at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku in Uganda Premier League.

SC Villa looked better right from the beginning of the game with several goals scoring chances.

Charles Bbaale had gifted his side (SC Villa) an early lead in the 2nd minute only for his shoot to go wide inches.

Bbale had another chance moments later when he was set up well by Ivan Bogere only Fabien Mutomboro to save.

In the 33rd minute, wasteful Bbale converted his third chance with a header after Travis Mutyaba set him with a cross.

Vipers came into the second half improved and demanding though failed to equalise.

In the 58th minute, Abdul Karim Watambala had striked only Meddie Kibirige to save his effort.

Arguably the best chance for the Venoms came in with Martin Kizza’s cross finding Karim Ndugwa only for the header to hit a crossbar.

On the other side in Jinja, KCCA defeated Gaddafi 1-0 at Kakindu stadium to pick maximum points.

Julius Poloto who came in for Brian Majwega in the 54th minute scored the lonely goal for the Kasasiro boys in the 73rd minute.

The results means, SC Villa remained on top with 46 points from 24 games, KCCA remained 2nd with 44 points from 22 games.

Vipers SC remained 3rd with 39 points from 21 games.

Vipers will next play on Tuesday as they will be hosting Gaddafi FC in Uganda Premier League.

On the next day, SC Villa will have to travel to Luzira in their next encoencter.
