UPDF 3-0 Blacks Power
UPDF cruised to a 3-0 triumph over Blacks Power in the Uganda Premier League early kickoff at Bombo Barracks Ground.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored a double and Kawagu Christopher was also on target as the Army side crusied to victory.
The win cools relegation pressure on the Bombo based side who are now six points adrift the red line.
For Blacks Power, the loss piles more misery on them as far as survival chances are concerned.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Odongo howler gifted UPDF two halftime goals before he was substituted in the 40th minute!
In the second minute, he poorly judged a long ball from Goalkeeper Were Derrick that jumped over him and Ahimbisibwe reacted quickest to beat him to the ball to head the hosts in front.
And in the 35th minute, he would have done better from Kawagu’s attempted cross that he failed to parry away and it found the back of the net to double the hosts lead.
The Custodian later paved way for Keneth Lukyamuzi in the 40th minute after his costly mistakes.
For Blacks Power, they pressed for a goal with Robert Eseru threatening the hosts backline but his teammates couldn’t back him up.
Ahimbisibwe completed his brace in the 50th minute slotting past the Goalkeeper off Nsimbe Badru Jibril low through ball.
The home team would have added to their tally but Rashid Faridi missed a sitter after tapping wide Nsimbe teasing ball.
On the otherside, the visitors had penalty appeal waved away after Goalkeeper Were looked to have bought down Micheal Siwu in the box.
UPDF moves to 12th with 25 points in 24 matches while Blacks Power are 14th with 19 points after 23 matches.
