Vipers seek to bounce back against struggling Onduparaka

Vipers SC will be eager to bounce back to winning ways as they host struggling Onduparaka in the league match at St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

The Venoms suffered a huge blow in a 1-0 defeat as  Gaddafi FC ended their impressive run of 7 games unbeaten hence missing out on a chance to move top of the log.

They will fancy their chances of returning to winning ways as they host struggling Onduparaka who are yet to register victory in the league as they sit at the bottom of the log with just two points.

Vipers head coach Roberto Oliviera has hinted on how difficult they failed to play in their previous game as Gaddafi scored early and played from the back.

“Obviously, it was disappointing to concede an early goal against Gaddafi and they made it difficult for us, they dropped deep and we had to try to penetrate for most of the game after that,”

“Credit to them, they made it tough and difficult. We’ve just got to dust ourselves off and stay confident, it’s halfway so we’ve still got a chance to bounce back,” said Oliviera as speaking to the Vipers media team.

He is confident of his side bouncing back to winning ways as they will have to embark on their style of play as they dominate the game.

“We can take confidence from the way we dominated possession, especially in the second half. The chances will come. It’s not over, far from it as we expect maximum points against Onduparaka.”

The Venoms will be without striker Yunus Ssentamu but will have to rely on the services of Cromwell Rwothomio despite the former URA striker yet to get to his best under coach Roberto Oliviera.

Vipers hold a strong record against Onduparaka as they are yet to lose a game and a win will see them move joint top with BUL FC on 23 points.
