Gaddafi hosts BUL FC in the first Busoga region derby of the 2022/2023 Uganda Premier league at the Kakindu stadium in Jinja.
BUL FC will be out to maintain their perfect start in the season as they target maximum points in their visit to the soldier boys.
They come into this tie with a commanding lead at the top of the table with 10 points from their last four games maintaining their unbeaten run.
They managed to secure a massive late minute win against second placed SC Villa in a 1-0 score in their last league match and they are eager to build on that for a positive result in the derby.
Assistant coach Richard Kasule expressed the teams readiness to take on Gaddafi FC and he terms it as one of the games they have to play in the league despite being a derby.
“We play Gaddafi FC in our fifth game of the season which is dubbed as a derby but we shall treat it as other games we play in the league despite coming from the same region.”
“We are prepared enough to take on Gaddafi as we have alway done by putting in much effort and hard work which has seen us top the table and not just by mistake.” Said Richard Kansole.
For the hosts of Gaddafi FC, they are yet to win a game in the league under the stewardship of coach Wasswa Bbosa.
They lost their first game against SC Villa by a 1-0 score, they managed to pick a goalless draw against Onduparaka and also making a massive comeback to draw 1-1 against Express FC in their last game.
They are yet to win a game against BUL FC as they only managed a 1-1 draw and losing the other by 2-0 in their two games they have met.
