The Uganda U19 women’s team this morning at MTN Arena Lugogo has been flagged off for the ICC U19 Women’s Division 1 qualifiers in Kigali.
Uganda will compete with 7 other nations for the one available spot. The team will bowl off their campaign against Namibia on Sunday.
The Baby Victoria Pearls will travel to Rwanda on Friday and Uganda is placed in Group A alongside hosts Rwanda, Namibia, and Kenya for the tournament, which will run from September 20th to 30th.
Uganda finished fourth in the 2022 qualifiers held in Botswana and top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the overall winner earning a ticket to represent Africa at the World Cup.
With Rwanda’s successful history against Uganda, we believe these girls will seize the chance to secure the sole World Cup qualification spot.
