KCCA FC 1-0 URA FC – MTN Omondi Stadium.
Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club started the 2024/2025 campaign in high gear after edging URA FC on a 1-0 score in their home MTN Omondi Stadium.
Exciting Saidi Mayanja striked the only goal in the 29th minute after being set well by Derrick Nsibambi after a well built up by the team.
KCCA FC started a better side and could get an early lead in the 13th minute through Derrick Nsibambi whose header was saved by Derrick Ochan before sending the rebounder to th side net.
URA FC could have equalized matters in the 38 minute when Norman Namanya striked but KCCA FC goalkeeper Mugolofa was there for the great save.
Second half saw both teams make changes as Bruno Bunyaga replaced Sharif Kimbowa for URA and Haruna Lukwago replaced Sharif Ssengendo for KCCA FC.In the 49th minute.
Bright Anukani could earn KCCA FC a second one but URA goalkeeper Derrick Ochan was there for a fine save before the rebounder striked wide by Nsibambi.
In the 72nd minute, KCCA FC goalkeeper Mugolofa had a great save after Ssemujju shot from long.
The result has taken KCCA FC to the top of the table with 3 points from 1 game while URA has dropped last with no point.
URA FC will look to get their first win on 20th September as they will be visiting Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba recreational grounds.
Meanwhile KCCA FC will be visiting BUL FC at FUFA Technical center Njeru on the same day.
Action resumes tomorrow on Saturday 13th September as Lugazi FC will be hosting Kitara FC at Lugazi FC Stadium.
