Masaza Cup: 11 commando Busiro deny Mawokota at home

Busiro, Mawokota played out to a goalless draw in the Masaza Cup match played at Sentema Ssaza ground.

The hosts Busiro lined up a maximum of 11 players without substitutes on the bench in a game where by Mawokota needed to pick maximum points in order to lighten up their chances of making it out of the group stages for a quarterfinal spot.

Busiro FC head coach Paul Kiwanuka has praised his players for the spirited fight despite ruling out their end of the campaign in the Masaza Cup.

“I would like to thank my players for the spirited fight shown today as we picked a draw against Mawokota. We are still in the battle despite our chances of making it out of the group stages hitting the dead end, we are still fighting.”

Busiro will play it’s last group stage game away from home as they face Ssese in the Muganzirwaza group.

For Mawokota, their chances of making it out of the group stages lie in a third place finish with better point rankings as they now move to 13 points with their last game coming against Kabula at home.
