SUPL: Vipers completes league double against the tax collectors

SC Villa 2-1 Mbarara City FC – Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

URA FC 0-2 Vipers SC – MTN Omondi Stadium.

Defending champions of Startimes Uganda Premier league Vipers SC completed a double against URA FC when they handled it a 2-0 loss at MTN Omondi Stadium.

Vipers SC came into the game on a poor form after losing out in their last game to KCCA FC and opted for a win to keep themselves in the title race.

Moses Waiswa opened the score for Vipers SC as early in the 2nd minute thanks to a cut back from Allan Okello.

Abdul Karim Watambala scored the second in the 90th minute through a beautiful free kick.

Vipers played the game with out head coach Livingston Mbabazi who was given a leave by the club after losing a close relative.

The win saw Vipers move to 4th place on 38 points, 6 below table leaders Kitara FC and still has more two games in hand.

On the other side, URA FC remained 8th on 31 points from 22 games.

Elsewhere at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, SC Villa edged Mbarara City FC on a 2-1 score to also keep their hopes of title winning.

Umar Lutalo scored first in the 20th minute before Henry Kitegenyi equalised for Mbarara City FC before the break.

Hakim Kiwanuka doubled the lead in the 69th minute and which was the match winner.

SC Villa moved to 3rd place on 39 points with still more two games in hand.
