Aliro Wants To Win League With URA

URA FC new signing Moses Aliro has declared his intentions after penning a two-year contract with the Tax Collectors.

Aliro, after joining the club as a free agent from Wakiso Giants FC, now wants to help the team win the league title, a feat the club has not achieved since 2011.

It has been over ten years since URA last won the league, but Aliro upon unveiling at his new club said it is possible to win it now that he has arrived.

He said: “I am happy to join URA FC and I want to help the club achieve a lot. It is a good team with good players and I believe we can together achieve.”

“Personally I want to help the club win the league and score goals.”

Expressing his pleasure for the management of the club for the trust they have put in him, he reiterated that he can only pay them back with good performances and results.

According to URA, Aliro’s versatility lured them to add him to the team. He can play in the midfield, upfront, left and right full back.

Aliro, a regular member of the Uganda Cranes squad who was also part of the Cranes team that recently took part in the 2023 CHAN tournament in Algeria had a trial stint with Tanzanian giants Yanga SC a few weeks back, but the deal to keep him at the club did not materialize.

His impressive display last season helped Wakiso Giants to an eighth place finish with 36 points, as his new club finished in fifth position having accumulated 42 points.

Aliro is officially the fifth player to be unveiled at URA, joining other new additions, teenagers Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent, Amis Bwangani and Godfrey Sekibengo as the team intensifies preparations for the coming season.
