Rezlife Saints coach Daniel ‘Najja’ Juuko remained positive despite his side’s 41-84 loss against City Oilers at Lugogo.

The defeat extended Rezlife Saints’ poor start to the second round where they have lost all their four games, and this was their fifth loss in a row overall.

Against the Oilers, they got off to a slow start to trail 17-9 after the first quarter, and the eight-time league winners didn’t go through their gears on the night.

“Tough but we expected it though we didn’t expect to lose with such a margin,” Najja told The-SportsNation after the loss.

In this second round, they have lost to Our Saviour, KIU Titans, UCU Canons and Oilers.

“We have been playing with big teams ever since we started the second round, so we are focusing more on the teams that are coming up.

“We believe we can win the rest of the games, they have been tough but we are hoping for the best.”

“The boys are fighting, we are trying to rebound better things we didn’t do in the First round. If you can rebound well against City Oilers and UCU, then you stand chances of beating most of the teams you have an edge over.”

None of Rezlife Saints players scored in double digits, with Michael Otieno scoring a team-high nine points.

For Oilers, Jimmy Enabu and Moses Maker had 14 and 13 rebounds as the side extended their unbeaten run to 16 games this season.

Outside Nam Blazers, Rezlife’s remaining games are against teams they are fighting relegation with – Ndejje, UPDF, Kampala Rockets and KCCA Panthers.

“We know the games we are supposed to win, We just have to beat teams that we are supposed to beat and we will be safe,” Najja added.

“We are going to survive, we have played five in the second. We can match up with them, if we can get four wins out of the six games remaining, then we can stand a chance.”
