Mbarara City Unveil Joseph Akandwanaho

New Uganda premier League side Mbarara have officially unveiled Joseph Akandwanaho

Akandwanaho joins on a two year’s contract and his official unveiling was made official on Saturday.

He joins the Ankole, a few days after confirming his departure from Express FC.

Welcome to Mbarara City, Akandwanaho Joseph!

Akandwanaho penned a two year contract with the Ankole Lions🦁” Reads a statement from Mbarara City.

At Mbarara City, he becomes the first signing in the ongoing transfer window.

Before moving to Express back then, Akandwanaho featured for Bright Stars, where he spent a couple of seasons.

Akandwanaho brings a vast experience to Mbarara City, having won a league title while at Express and also the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

He will be expected to boost Mbarara City, a side that is set to loose a couple of players.

Among the expected players to leave the club include their longest serving player, Jude Ssemugabi, who is strongly linked to a move to Kitara FC.

Stylish midfielder Bronson Nsubuga, James Angu, Ibrahim Tembo, Najib Tusaba (back to Villa) and goalkeeper Mugolofa Mutwalibu (back to Vipers) are the other players set to leave the club.

The club recently named Wasswa Bbosa as their new head coach, replacing Sadik Ssempijji, who left for Big League side Jinja North United.

And Mbarara City, who are making a return to the UPL next season will be expected to be busy in the market as they seek to strengthen their squad.
