Power Hope to get off the mark in Second Round

Wednesday, June 28
•Magic Stormers Vs A1 Challenge, 6:30pm
•Our Saviour Vs D-mark Power, 8:30pm

Power will be facing Our Saviour in their second game of the Second round of the National Basketball League at YMCA.

The five-time league champions lost to Nam Blazers 48-52 in their second round opener at Lugogo on June 23.

Power had their game against Rezlife Saints on Sunday postponed, and have rested more than Our Saviour who lost narrowly against UCU Canons on the same day.

The defeat against Nam Blazers saw Power introduce two of their three new additions in Elvis Mpeti and Ozias Kikomba.

Point Guard Kevin Ogunjimi did not play but he will be expected to step on court on Wednesday.

Caeser Adoke joined Power at the start of the season from UCU Canons, but missed the whole of the first round before making his debut against the Blazers.

All the four are important pieces for Power who have five and lost seven at this stage.

And coach Timothy Odeke will be hoping that his side can start racking up the wins as they target a place in the higher echelons of the table.

It’s strong to note that Power beat Our Saviour 63-55 on May 26 in the first round, and the side will be going for a double.

Our Saviour have won seven and lost six, with their last game ending in a one-point loss against UCU Canons.

Moses Mugisha is averaging a double double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, and alongside Malual Dier, Kenneth Mesho and Joseph Wacha, Our Saviour will give Power a big run for their money.
