•JT Lady Jaguars 70-29 Nabisunsa
•Nam Blazers 62-49 UPDF

Nam Blazers beat UPDF Tomahawks 62-49 in the National Basketball League game on Sunday at KIU court in Kansaga.

The win means that the Blazers have completed a double over UPDF this season having beaten the side 67-51 in the first round last month at YMCA.

It’s the third straight win for the Blazers in the second round since falling 52-72 to City Oilers.

They started the game on the back foot, trailing 13-16 in the first quarter before cutting the deficit to just a point at halftime.

They later got into their rhythm and won the second half 37-23 to win the match by 13 points.

Geoffrey Soro led with a double double of 16 points and 14 rebounds, adding 4 assists to fill the stat-sheet.

Chris Omanye and Paul Odongo hit 14 and 11 points respectively while Michael Makiadi added 10 rebounds for the Namuwongo-based side.

Michael Kojo’s double double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, plus Bernard Okumu’s 13 points proved not enough to save UPDF.

The Tomahawks remain winless in the NBL second round, having lost to JKL Dolphins earlier. They have won four and lost 9 this season.
