Central Regional 7s Kick Off in Spectacular Fashion

The Central regional 7s commenced with a bang as participating teams—both men’s and women’s, showcased exceptional competitive spirit at the Graveyard in Makerere.

Men’s category
The two-day circuit had 16 teams battle it out in the pools on game day one, to secure spots in the quarter-finals

Pool A witnessed formidable BOKs and MUBS display their dominance to emerge top of the pool, securing their passage to the next stage of the competition.

In Pool B, Sailors and Bisons, outshone their opponents to progress further.

Meanwhile, in Pool C, Stallions and Eagles showcased their mettle, ensuring spots in the quarter finals.

Kyambogo and Jaguars overcame competition from fellow Pool D participants to secure their places in the next round.

The remaining men’s teams that did not progress to the main cup knockouts will now play in the challenge cup knockouts, searching for better placement on the series’ log.

Women’s category
In the women’s category, with five participating teams , the games were played in the round-robin format.

With fouls fixtures played on day one, four fixtures others are scheduled to take place on day two to complete the second phase of the first circuit.

The first circuit of the tournament continues with action on day two as the men’s teams head into the knockout stages while the women look forward to finalising their fixtures.
