Junior Silverbacks Off to Rwanda For FIBA U16 Africa Qualifiers

Uganda Boys’ Under-16 National
Basketball team, the Junior Gazelles, have set off for Rwanda for the FIBA Africa U16 Zone 5 Qualifiers.

The championship in Kigali is due June 28-30, 2023.

The boys have been undergoing training at the national indoor stadium in Lugogo under the stewardship of Coach Adrew Tendo and other coaches.

Uganda will battle with hosts Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania.

“We are very positive that the boys have been equipped through the multiple
practice sessions and are in position to jump over this qualifiers hurdle,” said FUBA Vice President Hudson Ssegamwenge.

The tournament will act as qualifiers for the FIBA U16 Afrobasket championships that are scheduled to take place from August 13-23, 2023 in Tunisia.
