Jinja SS recovered from their morning loss to Tornado Bees in the National Women’s T20 League to beat the side by 20 runs in the afternoon on Saturday.
The students lost the morning game by 6 runs, with their terrible bowling especially selling them out. Jinja SS bowled 24 extras; that was just three runs short of what the combined Tornado Bees team managed.
Their batting was disappointing as well as only Whitney Nassuna (14) hit double figures, but they were able to bounce back to beat the team that’s placed bottom of the table.
It was another poor bowling display with them giving out 34 extra runs, but the batting field delivered just what was enough to win the game. Mary Kyatte (28) and Rashida Tikabula (23) got the runs.
It was Jinja SS’ third win of the season, but it keeps them fifth in the table standings with six points.
For Tornado Bees, the win was their first this season. They remain rooted to the bottom of the table, now with two points.
