Nam Blazers picked their tenth win of the season after overcoming Power in the National Basketball League on Friday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Blazers led from start to finish in an entertaining game that lived to the billing.

It threatened to be a blowout when Nam Blazers led 10-1 early in the first quarter, but Power battled back and kept the contest close and tight including taking the last quarter 17-12.

Geoffrey Soro led with a game high 16 points to collect a man of the match award, but it was youngster Wadaya Blair who impressed the most after scoring 12 points, his highest tally in top division.

Despite missing their head coach Timothy Odeke, Power looked an improved side thanks to new additions.

Elvis Mpeti had 12 points and 9 rebounds while Kikomba Ozias managed 13 rebounds.

Ceaser Adoke also made his debut for Power since joining from UCU Canons while Nigerian guard Kevin Ogunjimi will be expected to step on court in the next games.

The loss, is the seventh for Power, coming in their first game of the second round, for a side that won just five in the first round.
