Ssenyondo Stars As Cricket Cranes Thrash Botswana

Henry Senyondo was once again the star of the show as the Cricket Cranes eased past Botswana on Saturday at the Continent Cup T20-Africa.

The 29-year-old was again at the height of his bowling, equaling his bowling figures of 4/4, and it was a display that earned him the Player of the Match award. It was the third time in this competition that Senyondo was receiving this award.

His bowling alongside Alpesh Ramjani’s 3/9 saw Botswana manage just 64 runs, a total so easy for Uganda to chase.

Kenneth Waiswa and Siraje Nsubuga got the other wickets and Simon Ssesazi (27), Riazat Ali Shah (14) and Robinson Obuya (15) got the runs.

The game saw the return of wicketkeeper Cyrus Kakuru who had been off due to an illness. It also saw veteran Frank Nsubuga rested for the second time in a row.

The Cricket Cranes have already secured their place in the final, but they return to action tomorrow against Kenya in one of their two remaining group games, with the final set to happen on Wednesday, 21st June.
