Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have appointed Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil as the next head coach!
Traguil, who holds a UEFA A License and currently pursuing a UEFA Pro License, joins the Lugogo-based side on a two-year deal.
He takes over the mantle from Jackson Mayanja who joined the club on an interim basis in April.
“KCCA will benefit greatly from Sergio’s extensive expertise, high standards of excellence, and character,” said Club CEO Anisha Muhoozi.
“He is a successful coach who has worked at the highest levels in a number of different leagues on the continent but most importantly conforms to the Club’s DNA of playing beautiful football and youth development.”
Traguil started his coaching career at Benfica where he was in charge of the club’s youth teams.
Other teams coached include Kaduna (Nigeria), Hearts of Oak (Ghana), Singida Big Stars (Tanzania), CD Lunda Sol (Angola) among others.
The development ends speculations that have strongly linked former coaches Sam Ssimbwa and Abdallah Mubiru to the job.
But it’s a big statement move from the Lugogo-based side who have gone four seasons without tasting leave glory.
And its strong to note that KCCA FC will be playing at the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
