The Baby Cricket Cranes’ 50 Over games of their tour of India came to a splendid conclusion on Tuesday with their 124 run victory over SAI Cricket Academy.
The expedition started on May 14 when they arrived in India, and the team has gone on to win four out of the six 50 Over games played at the Sanjay Farm, the most recent one being the 124 run win over SAI earlier today.
Uganda through team captain Fahad Mutagana (49), Brian Asaba (34), Musa Majid Ramathan (16), Jaffer Ochaya (15) and Christopher Kidega (13) posted 178 runs in their innings while losing all their wickets, but on the day Joseph Baguma didn’t show up, Yunusu Sowobi took the mantle.
Sowobi claimed five wickets as Emmanuel Isaneez’s boys bowled out SAI in the 19th Over with only 54 runs on the card. Both Kidega and Ramathan also picked up two wickets apiece.
Upon the conclusion of the 50 Over format, Isaneez expressed his derived satisfaction from the tour.
“We came with the target of achieving mental, physical, technical and tactical abilities which were lacking from home. From my assessment, the boys have achieved great things.
“For example in the batting department, the boys have been able to play all the 50 Overs; to go above the 40 which was a challenge back home before we came to play the Series.” Isaneez said.
When asked what they intend to continue working on when they finally get back home, Insaneez said;
“The boys have been able to get partnerships that have been amazing. We had one of 99 and then 71. We will try to emphasize that they keep getting those small achievements which will help build the team even better.”
The boys will play a T20 game tomorrow which will be their last game of this tour. They will depart India on Thursday with hope that they have achieved the purpose of this trip which was to fine tune them ahead of the U19 World Cup Regional Qualifiers due in July in Tanzania.
