BUL, Bright Stars In Four-goal Thriller

BUL FC and Bright Stars played out 2-2 stalement in the Uganda Premier League at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

Ibrahim Mugulusi gave BUL FC the lead but the hosts needed a late Anthony Mayanja scored equaliser to a snatch a point for the hosts.

Fiat Cleophas and Nelson Senkatuka were on target for Bright Stars, the former reaching 50 goals for the Visitors in all competitions.

BUL FC are still in search of their maiden league win of the second round.

This is BUL’s fifth draw of the second half of the season with four defeats.

Bright Stars have picked four points against BUL FC this campaign after a 2-0 victory at Kavumba Recreation Ground in the reverse fixture.

BUL took an early lead in the 5th minute through Mugulusi who broke the deadlock but they couldn’t hold on their lead.

And Bright Stars restored parity in the 42nd minute through Cleophas with a thunderbolt that left the Goalkeeper static.

With three minutes into the second half, Senkatuka gave Bright Stars the lead.

Senkatuka could have completed his brace but his ball hit the bar after Alex Mandera effort was saved by the Goalkeeper Saidi Keni.

In the 85th minute, Mayanja equalised for the hosts to put the game level.

It proved to be the last goal of the game and rescued a point for BUL FC.

BUL FC are sixth on the log with 32 points after 23 points while Bright Stars are 11th with 29 points in 23 matches.

What Next
BUL will take on Wakiso Giants at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Wednesday 3rd May on the same day Bright Stars will host Busoga United at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
