In form forward Allan Kayiwa was the saviour again as Express FC picked a 1-all draw against Wakiso Giants in a league game held at Wankulukuku on Friday.

Kayiwa, who has been the shinning star this season, scored from the spot in the 72nd minute to ensure that the Red Eagles avoided defeat at home.

Sharif Kimbowa had earlier put the Visitors ahead in the 67th minute and they were on course for victory.

It was the second successive draw for Express, on a day they failed to live to their best.

The draw saw them move to the 8th position with 30 points after 23 games.

For Wakiso Giants, it was a bad for them as they dropped more points.

At half time, both sides had a few share of chances at Wankulukuku.

Express FC’s Joseph Akandwanaho saw his header punched away for corner by Wakiso Giants goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya before Kayiwa was denied on various occasions while Sharif Kimbowa came close on the visitors side.

After the break, the visitors came back the better side as they made various attempts.

And their efforts paid off with six minutes past the hour mark through Kimbowa, to send the crowd into celebrations.

But six minutes later, Kayiwa levelled matters for his side from the spot kick, a goal that could later earn a vital point for his team.

Kalyowa’s goal was his 11th this season and is the current leading top scorer so far.

For the remaining part of the game, their was less to admire as nothing could separate the two sides.

The result saw Express move to the 8th position and will need to double their efforts if they are to finish in a better position this season.

For Wakiso Giants, they will feel proud for picking up another point off Express, having beated the same side in the reverse fixture. They remained 7th with 31 points after 24 games.
