Team News

UPDF is boosted by the return of Defender Kasozi Samson after missing the previous game with Maroons due to yellow Cards accumulation.

However, they will be without Moses Kiggundu.

For Blacks Power they will be without injured Amayo Ahmed

Mukiibi Ali is still sidelined with an injury while Matata Gabriel has been granted leave after losing his uncle.

Goalkeeper Tonny Kyamera, Ndalambi Jimmy and Odongo Haron are all out due to family issues.

Preview: UPDF, Blacks Power fighting for survival

UPDF will welcome Blacks Power at the Bombo Barracks Ground in the Uganda Premier League early kickoff as both sides aim to avoid relegation.

Thirteenth placed UPDF are three points above Blacks Power who occupies the last place of the red zone but the latter have a game in hand.

The Army side will hope to bounce back after a 1-0 defeat at Maroons in the previous game, they are winless in their last three matches.

Brian Ssenyondo’s charges will seek to revenge their 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture at the Akibua Memorial stadium last year.

UPDF will be banking on home support to keep their survival chances alive. They have won two of their four home matches this year losing one and drawing the other.

For Blacks Power, they will set their sights on completing a double over UPDF.

Okello Ivan Scored the all important goal to give them the maximum points at the Akibua Memorial stadium in November.

Sadiq Sempiji’s side is in search of their first away win of the second round.

They have picked just one point on the road this year a one all draw with BUL and have lost on their last three visits to Bright Stars, Arua Hill and Vipers.

They will aim to build on their 1-0 home victory over Maroons courtesy of Dickens Okwir winner.

A win for Blacks Power will put them level on 22 points with UPDF with a game in hand.
