NIC beat KCCA 43-41 on Wednesday at Kamwokya TLC in the Netball Super League thriller.

The result blows the title race wide open as NIC climbed top of the 12-team log just on goal difference but having played a game more!

NIC quickly got out of the blocks to take the first quarter 12-09 and held onto their advantage until the final whistle.

Rachael Nanyonga and Sam Zeera scored 26 and 17 goals for NIC for their 17th win of the season in 19 games.

Shadiah Nankya managed 34 goals on the evening but his effort proved not enough for KCCA.

“We are very happy to beat the table leaders, we have worked so hard for this, we went back and organised our house and made some good recruitments and it has given us much advantage in competitions,” NUC Assistant coach Ali Mugisha started.

“All we have to do is to keep winning and see where this will end because we have a psychological difference over them. And you never know, we can be champions on goal difference.”

It’s the first loss for KCCA this season who won the reverse fixture against NIC 39-37 in November last year.
