Leaders SC Villa Stunned By Arua Hill

Wednesday, April 19
*URA 2-0 KCCA
*UPDF 0-1 Vipers
*Villa 0-1 Arua Hill
*Onduparaka 0-1 Bright Stars

SC Villa missed a chance to tighten their grip on top with a 1-0 defeat against Arua Hill at Wankulukuku.

Innocent Media scored the only goal of the game to hand SC Villa their first loss since November last year.

Media volleyed in after a good cross from Geriga Atendele in the fifth minute of the game.

The Jogoos created several chances in the second half and thrice hit the woodwork but couldn’t find the leveller.

Joseph Kafumbe, Charles Bbaale and Kenneth Ssemakula were unlucky to be denied by the goal frame.

Travis Mutyaba had his curler collected by goalkeeper Rogers Omeddwa while Defender Gift Fred and Ivan Sserubiri also came close for the Jackson Magera’s charges.

It was a masterclass defensive display for Arua Hill who had coach Livingston Mbabazi animated from the word go.

Arua Hill understandably sat back after getting their goal, and barely asked more questions going forward.

The victory, second in seven games for the Kongolo, elevates the side to sixth position with 30 points.

And it’s an impressive result for Arua Hill who missed a couple of players including Rashid Toha and Gaddafi Wahab.

What Next – SC Villa face KCCA on April 23 at Lugogo while Arua Hill will welcome Gaddafi at Barifa a day earlier.
