UCU Canons Seek To Make Amends Against JKL

Wednesday, April 19
*JT Lady Jaguars Vs Miracle Eaglets, 6:30pm
*UCU Canons Vs JKL Dolphins, 8:30pm

UCU Canons will be hoping to right the wrongs when they face off with JKL Dolphins in the National Basketball League at Lugogo.

The Canons, one of the contenders to Oilers’ throne, have had a poor start this season.

They have one win, which came in Overtime against Nam Blazers, in four games.

They lost 61-53 to UPDF Tomahawks on Sunday in their last outing at Lugogo, adding to defeats against Oilers and Ndejje University Angels.

The Canons, not to take away much from UPDF, will have themselves to blame after a slow start that saw them trail by 12 points in the first quarter.

They went on to make 26 turnovers (losing possession) in a game besides Jimmy Otim (26) scored double figures for Nicholas Natuhereza’s side.

But they will fancy their chances against JKL who have won once, against Our Saviour (77-74) in their opening four games.

UCU beat JKL twice in the regular season and also went on to eliminate the side in the Quarterfinals playoffs with a 2-0 sweep.

The Dolphins will bank on Denis Tom Omara, Lora Bienfait and Joseph Dramaza who are averaging double digits in scoring this season, but this team is a shadow of themselves from the one of last season after departure of Mabol Makor and Malual Dier.
