Villa’s Magera, Goalkeeper Tamale Scoop UPL Monthly Awards

SC Villa head coach Jackson Magera and Maroons FC goalkeeper Simon Tamale have been named the Pilsner UPL coach and player respectively for the month of February/March.

The two were given their awards on an event held at the Kati Kati restaurant on Thursday evening.

Magera, has ticked all the boxes at the record champions and it was evident in the past months.

He guided his side to four wins , one draw with the Victories coming against top sides in Express, Onduparaka, BUL FC and Busoga United.

Magera’s side only dropped points once, in their 1- all draw against Gaddafi away from from.

And they are currently on top with 40 points, three ahead of second placed KCCA FC who have played two games less.

To win this gong, Magera beat off competition from URA’s Sam Timbe and Maroons gaffer Muhammad Senfuma.

On the other hand, Tamale walked away with the Pilsner player of the month accolade.

Surely, it was a deserving award for the shotstopper, who has been outstanding at the Luzira based side.

In the months of February and March, Tamale kept three cleanseets in the process and also scooped the man of the match award against Busoga United.

And currently, his side Maroons are sixth on the log with 27 points after 20 games.

To take this gong, Tamale beat off stiiff competition from Express FC’s forward Allan Kayiwa and Arua Hill’s youngster Innocent Media.

The pilsner awards are given out at the end of every month to the best player and coach of the month.
