Uganda Cranes retained their World position after the latest FIFA Rankings released on Thursday, April 6.
The Cranes are ranked 89th in the World, the same position since the previous rankings were released in December last year.
This, follows mixed results where in AFCON Qualifiers where the Cranes split their double header with Tanzania.
The Cranes lost the first round tie 1-0 courtesy of Simon Msuva’s strike in Ismailia, Egypt.
The Cranes four days later beat Taifa Stars by the same scoreline, with Rogers Mato scoring late in the game, in Dar Es Salaam.
Micho’s side remain in 18th on the African continent.
Tanzania on the other hand, were also unmoved, retaining their 130th position.
Group Opponents Algeria moved six positions up the ladder to 34th position, a big improvement from the 40th rank since the rankings were last released in December.
Algeria beat Niger in both games to seal a slot in AFCON Finals next year in January in Ivory Coast.
Niger on the other hand, slipped a place to 123rd from 122nd.
The Cranes will hope to seal a place in AFCON when they face Algeria (H) and Niger (A) in June.
On the Continent, Egypt is also among the biggest movers, climbing four places to 35th.
But the most improved side in this edition is Central African Republic who moved to 122nd, rising 10 places.
Brazil relinquished top place to World Champions Argentina, slipping two places to third and sit just below second placed France.
