Preview: URA Target First Win At Mehta Stadium

URA will set their sights on the first win at Mehta stadium since returning after six years.

The Tax collectors got a harsh welcome after falling 2-1 to Busoga United recently.

Sam Timbe’s side will hope to take advantage of the injury-hit Wakiso Giants to inspire them to victory.

They will also seek to revenge their 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

URA have turned fortunes around this year after a poor first round, they have won four of the five games this year losing to only Busoga United.

URA forward Viane Ssekajuko is optimistic they will pick their first win at the Mehta stadium after a 2-1 loss to Busoga United on their return.

“As URA we are just ready for the match tomorrow, we are taking this game as a final since we didn’t perform to our best in the first round,” Ssekajugo, formerly at Wakiso said.

“We have to fill the gap with with every single game that comes across us, tomorrow is Wakiso Giants.

“So we are very positive and ready, the technical team has done their best and we are up to the challenge on Wednesday.”

URA come into this game on the back of a two-nil away victory over Bright Stars courtesy of Dada Ibrahim and Kabon Living goals.

Wakiso Giants will go all out with the hope of collecting their first win of the year.

The purple Sharks have collected just one point since the start of second round, a goalless draw with Vipers.

They have since lost to KCCA, Maroons, Blacks Power and UPDF.

However, Wakiso Giants have never lost a game away to URA, collecting two points in two visits.

Wakiso Giants Head Coach John Luyinda told the club media that he’s optimistic his players will finish the job despite being affected by injuries.

“We lost our key players in the transfer window but that is not an excuse,” Luyinda told the club media.

“We have the players we believe are good and able replacements but our major undoing has been injuries which continue to hurt us

“However, we believe the players available will rise up against a very good opponent on form.”

In the reverse fixture Norman Ogik and Moses Aliro inspired Wakiso Giants to a 2-1 victory at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, James Begesa was on target for URA.
