SC Villa Back At Wankulukuku

Leaders SC Villa welcome Bright Stars at Wankulukuku in one of the League games on Tuesday.

The Jogoos return to Wankulukuku as hosts for the first time since November last year.

Then, they lost to Wakiso Giants in a game where Villa were subsequently issued with a FUFA ban of two points deduction and hosting at five games at a neutral venue up country behind closed doors.

It hasn’t been worse as initially expected as Villa have won four of their five games at Akii-bua, with that loss coming in their first game against KCCA (3-0).

Wins over Maroons, UPDF, Onduparaka and BUL highlight Villa’s report card in Lira.

And they return at Wankulukuku as league leaders after that 1-0 win over Busoga United, a result that was followed by KCCA FC’s home draw with Maroons at Lugogo.

At Wankulukuku, Villa had won all their three games before that loss against Wakiso Giants.

And a win over Bright Stars will extend their advantage to 40 points, four above KCCA who will have there games in hand.

It’s still early for Villa to dream about a league title, and Coach Jackson Magera will ask his charges to handle each game at a time. And the rest will fall into place.

Villa won the first round tie 1-0 on November 5 last year, courtesy of Charles Bbaale goal, at Kavumba.

And a win will hand them a league double, as Bright Stars did to them the previous season where they won 2-1 at Njeru and 1-0 at Kavumba.

Nelson Senkatuka who scored a brace in that 2-1 victory last season, has a chance to score his 50th goal for Bright Stars!

The Stars, come into this fixture hungry to return to winning ways after losing their last two fixtures against URA and UPDF.

They sit 10th on the log with 24 points after 18 wins (6W, 6D, 6L).

A win can see Bright Stars climb as high as fifth place if other results can go their way.
