The schools’ rugby fixtures continued in the knockout stages at the graveyard, Makerere, with teams that made it out the groups stages facing off in the semi finals stage.

A total of six fixtures took place under the three different categories; Under 15, Under 17 and Under 20.

Under 15

In the first match of the day, Namilyango took on Kings College Budo.

Kings College dominated the match but were able to register only 7 points. Despite their best efforts, Namilyango was unable to respond, and KCB continued to control the game.

The match ended with a final score of 07 – 00 in favour of Kings College and they secured themselves a spot in the finals.

In the second U15 semi final of Schools Rugby, SMACK took on Makerere College. SMACK got off to a strong start, taking control of the game and registering themselves points. MACOS struggled to have a breakthrough but had zero success at it.

The game came to an end with SMACK progressing into the finals with a score of 18-00

Under 17

The first fixture of the U17 category had SMACK taking on MACOS.

SMACK emerged victorious 19-06 to advance into the finals of the category.

The second semi final draw had Kings College Budo get knocked out by Namilyango. A narrow win of 03-07 saw the latter emerge triumphant to book themselves a spot in the final.

Under 20

The main event had the last four standing teams struggle to advance to the last stage of the competition.

MACOS faced SMACK in game one. A balanced game in the opening minutes that turned out to be one- sided as SMACK took domination in the first half piling points onto the score board and only allowing MACOS to post five.

In the second half, SMACK continued to control the game, adding a few more tries to their tally and shutting out MACOS.

The game ended 34-05 in favour of SMACK.

In the second semi final, Hanna International took on Budo.

Buddo got the first points of the game from a try and Hanna responded accordingly. The game was fairly and tightly contested as the kickers were the difference makers at the end of day.

It became a contest between the kickers from both sides and clearly, the better kicker of the day, would later lead his team to the final.

The lead kept taking turns mostly in favour of Budo but Hanna was quick to catch up and eventually take the lead, and further push it to their advantage.

Despite their best efforts, Budo was unable to mount a comeback, and the match ended with a final score 27- 22 with Hanna emerging as the clear winners and qualifying for the final phase.

Hanna will hence take on SMACK in the final of the U20.
