All is set for Uganda International Para-Badminton tournament

Uganda Badminton Association has on  Monday  morning launched  the UGANDA INTAERNATIONAL PARA-BADMINTON TOURNAMENT in a press briefing held in Lugogo.

The  Six days Tournament will serve off on Tuesday 13th to Sunday 18th September 2022 at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Tournament carries points to the World Para-Badminton Championships and Paralympics in Paris 2024 and will attract about 180 athletes from countries like Azerbaijan, Singapore,India among Others.

Athletes categorised in Mixed Doubles ,Women and Men Doubles along with most notably the Men and Women Singles will compete in events including Standing Lower Three & Four, Wheelchair One & Two,Short Stretcher and Standing Upper Five to gain Qualification points.

Uganda,will field  54 athletes in different categories for this edition and Simon Mugabi,the CEO of Uganda Badminton Association hopes for a good show from the Team as he adds, “we have had two months of training and I believe we are well prepared to write Success”.

During the Launch,Jibu Uganda through their Marketing and Sales representative Brenda Mbabazi Ssenyonga pledged to offer Purified,Safe Drinking Water to all athletes during the tournament.

Additionally,they will award the best players to tally with the trophies and medals from Uganda Badminton Association. 

To grace the Tournament Launch was UBA President Annet Nakamya and NCS General Secretary David Katende who thanked the  Federation for the efforts to bring soonsors on board.
