Farouk Miya is back, scores brace- How Ugandans football pros performed over the weekend

“A couple of Ugandan professional footballer abroad got on target for their respective sides across the globe via the weekend.

Farouk Miya got two while Joseph Mpande, Erisa Ssekisambu and Keziron Kizito had one each for their side.

Here is how those four and other Ugandan professionals abroad fared over the weekend.

Starting off in Scotland, both Bevis Mugabi and Sadat Anaku were unused substitutes for their respective sides as Motherwell FC drew nil-nil with Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.

In England, Jordan Obita featured for 73 minutes as his Wycombe Wanderers side drew 1-1 with Fleetwood in the English League One.

In Denmark, Moses Opondo featured for 90 minutes for AS Horsen as they lost 2-0 to Brondby in the Danish SuperLiga.

In Sweden, Alexis Bbaka got on target as his side, Omea FC defeated Team TG FF 3-0 in the Swedish Division 1.

Isak Ssewakambo was absent from Sirius FC squad as they lost 1-0 to Djurgården in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Still in Allsvenskan, Ronald Mukiibi was also out for Degerfos as they drew 2-all with Hackens.

In Azerbaijan, Kizito Luwagga never featured for Sabail FK as they drew nil-nil with Sabah in the Azerbaijan Premier League.

In Iceland, Elvis Bwomono featured fulltime for IBV as they drew 2-all with Vikingur Reykjavik in the Iceland Úrvalsdeild.

In Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme featured for Viktoria Zizkov as they claimed a 1-0 victory over FK Chlumec in the Czech Republic National Football League.

In USA, Steven Sserwadda was an unused substitute for New York Red Bulls as they lost 2-0 to Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer.

Mike Azira features for 83 minutes for New Mexico United as they lost 2-1 to El Paso in the United States League.

Still in USL, Edward Kizza featured for 28 minutes for Pittsburgh Riverhounds as they defeated Loudoun United 2-1.

Aziz Kayondo featured for 83 minutes and made an assist for Tryone Mondi as his side, Real Monarch secured a 4-2 victory over Portland Timber 2.

In Algeria, Allan Okello never made it to the matchday squad for Paradou AC as they suffered a 1-0 loss to CR Belouizdad in Algeria Ligue 1.

In Turkey, Farouk Miya netted a brace for his side, Rizespor CK as they secured a 4-0 victory over Yeni Malatayspor in the Turkish TFF First League.

In Turkish Sùper Lig, Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru was introduced on in the 78th minutes by Konyaspor Kulubu as they secured a 1-0 victory over Giresunspor.

In Vietnam, Joseph Mpande was on target for Hai Phong as they claimed a 2-0 victory over SHB Da Nang in the Vietnam League 1.
Moses Oloya also featured fulltime for Hai Phong.

In Israel, Timothy Awanyi featured fulltime for Ashdod SC as they defeated Hapoel Jerusalem 3-0 in the Israeli Premier League.

In South Africa, Dennis Onyango remained unused on the bench for Mamelodi Sundowns as they lost 2-1 to SuperSport United in the DSTV Premiership.

Still in DSTV Premiership, Jamal Salim Magoola started in goal for Richards Bay FC as they claimed a 2-1 victory over Stellenbosch.

In Zambia, Keziron Kizito netted the winner for Zesco United as they beat Nkanzi 1-0 in the MTN Zambian Premier League. Alfred Leku also featured for Zesco United in that game.

Still in Zambia, Hashim Sempala was introduced on in the 82nd minute as Kabwe Warriors drew goalless with Prison Leopards.

In Rwanda, Erisa Ssekisambu was on target for Kiyovu Sport as they claimed a 1-0 victory over BUL FC in a pre-season game.”
