Masaza Cup: Buddu returns to winning ways as Buwekula picks vital away win

The 2022 Masaza cup edition saw just three team register wins on match day 9 in battle for quarter final slots.

The reigning champions Buddu returned to winning ways as they came out victorious against Buluuli in a 1-0 score coutsey of striker Haruna Lukwagi at Masaka recreation grounds.

In the same group, Ssingo were held to a 1-1 draw against Mawogola at their own home ground Ssingo Saza stadium with Amuli Mukasa on the score sheet and Shaban Kayongo.

Kyadondo saw their match abandoned in the 87th minute they were trailing 1-0 away to Buvuma in protest of poor officiating.

Buddu on 14 points currently move to just with in three points below table leaders  on 17 points in the Masengere group with Kyadondo sitting third with 13 points.

Buwekula picked up vital two away wins in a space of four days to push their to the top of the Bulange group on 19 points.

On Thursday, they came out victorious by a 1-0 score against Kooki in a rescheduled match before traveling away to win against Kabula by a similar score on Sunday.

Gomba were held to a 1-1 draw against Mawokota as Kooki failed to honour their match against Butambala.

In the Muganzirwaza group, Busiro and Bulemeezi continue to dominate the top two slots respectively despite Busiro picking a 1-1 draw away at Bugerere.

Bulemeezi were victorious against Busujju by a 2-0 score with goals from Kaye Ronald and Oscar Ssesaazi as Ssese held Kyaggwe to a 2-2 all draw.
